2026 Slovak Heritage Festival

Celebrate Slovak culture at this free festival featuring traditional music and dance performances, vendor booths, informational displays, and lectures about Slovak heritage. You'll also have the chance to explore the Czechoslovak Room and possibly meet a special guest. The four-hour event brings together food, history, and community in a festive atmosphere designed to help families learn about Slovakia and its place in American history. Best for families interested in cultural experiences and anyone curious about this part of Pittsburgh's rich immigrant heritage. University of Pittsburgh's Slovak Studies Program—the only permanent one in the nation—hosts this annual gathering to engage young people and preserve Slovak traditions. There's no admission cost, and free parking is available on Sundays, making it an affordable outing for the whole family. Whether you're looking to connect with your own heritage or explore a new culture, this is a welcoming, educational way to spend an afternoon together.
