All-Ages Open Jam at The Milwaukee Jazz Institute

An open jam session is an informal gathering where musicians of various skill levels play together, taking turns with improvisation and collaboration. At the Milwaukee Jazz Institute, families can experience live jazz in a relaxed, participatory setting. It's a wonderful way to introduce children to jazz culture, see how musicians interact and respond to each other in real time, and enjoy authentic local music-making. The casual atmosphere means there's often less pressure than a formal concert—perfect for younger listeners who are curious about live music.
