Authors! with Jacqueline Friedland
Meet author Jacqueline Friedland at Toledo-Lucas County Public Library—inspire young readers.
Meet USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Jacqueline Friedland as she discusses her novel *Breathing Under Water*, a contemporary story about unexpected connections and found family. The book follows two women—Berry, a school administrator navigating motherhood and her autistic son's needs, and McKenna, a college swimmer facing academic struggles—whose lives intersect through a swim class for autistic children. Friedland will share what inspired her to write the book, her journey from practicing law to becoming a novelist, and her approach to creating complex, authentic characters.
The event runs about 45 minutes with time for audience questions afterward. Every ticket includes a copy of *Breathing Under Water* to take home. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for general admission seating (no assigned seats). The library offers free underground parking on Adams Street. Tickets are sold online only through Eventbrite, and you'll need to bring your ticket (printable or on your phone) to enter. After her talk, Friedland will be available for a brief book signing. The library can arrange handicapped seating and ASL interpretation with advance notice—call (419) 214-4332 at least one to two weeks before the event.
