Be a School Year VolunTEEN

Teen leadership volunteer program building real-world skills in a library setting.

Is your teen looking for meaningful ways to give back? The School Year VolunTEEN program invites teenagers ages 13 through high school graduation to join the library team from September through March. This training session introduces volunteers to the work ahead: helping with activities and crafts, reading with children, shelving books, assisting with programs, and supporting library staff and families. The one-hour mandatory training covers library policies, volunteer expectations, and how to sign up for specific opportunities throughout the school year. Before attending this training, teens must create an online volunteer account at www.toledolibrary.org/volunteer (starting September 1st). Space is limited, so registering early is encouraged. Keep in mind that volunteers commit to a single library location for the entire season. For questions, contact the VolunTEEN Supervisor at your chosen branch or reach out to Talena Reynolds, Volunteer and Partnership Liaison, at 419.259.5229 or talena.reynolds@toledolibrary.org.
