Be a School Year VolunTEEN
School-year volunteer opportunity for teens to build leadership and support library programs.
Your teenager can make a real difference at the library this school year. The VolunTEEN program welcomes young people ages 13 through high school graduation to volunteer from September through March. During this orientation session, teens will complete a required one-hour training that covers what the role involves, library policies, and how to sign up for specific volunteer shifts. You'll also learn about the different ways volunteers help—assisting with programs, reading with children, organizing shelves, running crafts and activities, and more. Teens work at just one library location, so they'll register for training at whichever branch they plan to volunteer at.
Before attending this session, your teen needs to set up an online volunteer account through the library's website starting September 1st. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. If you have questions, the library's Volunteer and Partnership Liaison, Talena Reynolds, is available at 419.259.5229 or talena.reynolds@toledolibrary.org.
