Be a School Year VolunTEEN

Looking for a meaningful way for your teen to give back this fall? The Waterville Library is recruiting volunteers ages 13 through high school graduation for their School Year VolunTEEN program, which runs from September through March. This is a great opportunity for young people to develop skills while making a real difference in their community. The program covers a range of activities—from helping with children's programs and reading aloud to shelving books, assisting with crafts, and playing games with library visitors of all ages. Getting started is straightforward but requires two important steps. Teens must create an online volunteer account (registration opens September 1st at www.toledolibrary.org/volunteer) and then attend a mandatory one-hour training session to learn library policies, procedures, and available opportunities. Space is limited at some locations, so registering early is encouraged. Volunteers choose a single library location where they'll complete their training and serve throughout the school year.
