Be a School Year VolunTEEN

Teen volunteer opportunity at King Road Library to earn service hours and develop leadership skills.

This is a great opportunity for teens interested in giving back to their community. The School Year VolunTEEN program runs from September through March and welcomes teens ages 13 and up through high school graduation. During this session, you'll attend a mandatory one-hour training where you'll learn library policies, what to expect as a volunteer, and how to sign up for specific volunteer shifts. Trainees will discover the variety of ways they can help, from working with children on activities and crafts to shelving books and assisting with programs. Before attending training, you'll need to create an online volunteer account starting September 1st at www.toledolibrary.org/volunteer. It's important to know that you can volunteer at only one library location, so register for training at the branch where you plan to serve. Space may be limited, so registering early is encouraged. If you have questions, reach out to the VolunTEEN Supervisor at the King Road location or contact the Volunteer and Partnership Liaison at 419.259.5229 or talena.reynolds@toledolibrary.org.
