Be a School Year VolunTEEN

School-year teen volunteer program building real leadership & work skills at Sanger Library.

Is your teen looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community? This training session introduces the School Year VolunTEEN program, which runs from September through March and welcomes teens ages 13 and up through high school graduation. During this one-hour session, your teen will learn what it takes to be an effective library volunteer, including policies, procedures, and expectations. This training is required before participating in the program. As a trained VolunTEEN, your teen will help with a variety of activities—from reading and playing games with younger children to shelving books, setting up craft activities, and assisting with library programs. Volunteers work with staff, children, and families in a supportive role. Before attending training, teens must create an online volunteer account starting September 1st at www.toledolibrary.org/volunteer. Spots may be limited, so registering early is encouraged. Questions? Contact the VolunTEEN Supervisor at your chosen library location or reach out to Mrs. Talena Reynolds at 419.259.5229.
