Be a School Year VolunTEEN

Is your teen looking for a meaningful way to give back? The Toledo Library's School Year VolunTEEN program welcomes volunteers ages 13 through high school graduation to make a real difference from September through March. During this one-hour training session, your teen will learn what the role involves and get prepared to jump in. Volunteers help with a variety of activities—reading with children, assisting with programs and crafts, organizing shelves, and playing games alongside library visitors of all ages. To participate, teens must first create a free online volunteer account starting September 1st at www.toledolibrary.org/volunteer, then register for this mandatory training. Keep in mind that volunteers commit to a single library location for the school year, so your teen should register at the branch where they plan to serve. Space is limited at some locations, so registering early is a smart move.
