Be a School Year VolunTEEN

Is your teen looking for a meaningful way to give back this school year? The Toledo Public Library is recruiting volunteers ages 13 and up (through high school graduation) for their School Year VolunTEEN program, which runs from September through March. Teens who join will help with a variety of library activities—from assisting with programs and reading to children, to helping with crafts and games, shelving books, and supporting staff. Before starting, all volunteers must complete a one-hour training session to learn library policies, procedures, and available opportunities. Getting started is simple. Beginning September 1st, teens need to create an online volunteer account at www.toledolibrary.org/volunteer, then register for a training session at the specific library location where they'd like to volunteer. Space is limited at some locations, so early registration is encouraged. Volunteers commit to a single library location for the entire program year.
