Be a School Year VolunTEEN

Is your teen looking for a meaningful way to give back? The Toledo Library's School Year VolunTEEN program offers teenagers ages 13 and up (through high school graduation) the chance to support their community from September through March. This session is the mandatory training that kicks off the program—a one-hour introduction where your teen will learn what to expect and how the program works. During training, teens will discover the range of volunteer tasks available, including helping with activities and crafts, reading with children, organizing shelves, and supporting library programs. Your teen will also learn important policies, guidelines, and how to sign up for specific volunteer shifts. Before attending this training session, teens must create an online volunteer account at www.toledolibrary.org/volunteer (starting September 1st). Note that volunteers work at only one library location, so registration should be for the branch where your teen plans to serve. Space may be limited, so early registration is encouraged.
