Be a School Year VolunTEEN

Teen volunteer program at Waterville Branch Library (Sept.–March, ages 13+).

Is your teen looking to give back to the community? The School Year VolunTEEN program welcomes teens ages 13 and up through high school graduation to volunteer at the library from September through March. This one-hour training session is your first step—it's required for all participants and covers everything you need to know, including library policies, what to expect, and how to sign up for volunteer shifts that fit your schedule. Once trained, your teen will work alongside staff and families on a variety of activities: helping with crafts and games, reading with children, organizing shelves, and supporting library programs. Before attending training, teens must create an online volunteer account at www.toledolibrary.org/volunteer starting September 1st. Note that volunteers can work at only one library location, so register for training at the branch where your teen plans to volunteer. Space may be limited, so early registration is encouraged.
