Bird Watch

Join a nationwide citizen-science bird count on the library terrace (binoculars provided).

Bring your family to observe and count birds right from the library terrace as part of Project FeederWatch, a nationwide citizen science initiative. You'll join the New Hope Bird Alliance in contributing real data to help researchers understand bird populations. We provide binoculars and field guides, or feel free to bring your own. Kids and adults alike can enjoy interactive bird-themed games, collect temporary tattoos, and warm up with hot cocoa on chilly days. The terrace is accessible by stairs or a ramp located on the building's right side, and it offers covered seating with benches and chairs positioned to view the bird feeders. Wear layers and comfortable outdoor clothing—the space is sheltered but open to the weather. Please note that the program may be cancelled if conditions become unsafe. Children must be supervised by an adult throughout the event. This activity welcomes visitors of all ages and offers a hands-on way to connect with nature and science.
