Boo on the Boat

Dress your kids in their favorite Halloween costumes and head to the National Museum of the Great Lakes for a spooky celebration aboard two historic ships: the Col. James M. Schoonmaker and the Tug Ohio. Children can trick-or-treat throughout the vessels, moving from the pilothouse to the galley and beyond while discovering fascinating Great Lakes history. Treats come in pre-portioned, sealed bags handed out at various themed stations throughout the ships, keeping the experience both fun and safe. The museum will be open during regular hours, with last boarding at 4 p.m. Museum members and children under 5 get in free. For other visitors, admission is $14 for youth ages 6–17 and $20 for adults. The museum also participates in the Teal Pumpkin Project, offering non-food treats for children with allergies. All children must be accompanied by an adult. If your family qualifies for SNAP benefits, you can gain free admission through the Museums For All program.
