Build a Halloween Automaton - with Kool Kat Science
Build a Halloween automaton using cranks and cams at Heatherdowns Branch Library.
Your child can explore the mechanics behind moving toys and decorations by building their own Halloween-themed automaton during this free class at the library. Led by Kool Kat Science, participants will learn how cranks and eccentric cams work together to create motion—imagine turning a crank to make a ghost twirl or a scarecrow bob up and down. It's a hands-on introduction to simple machines with a festive twist.
This class is designed for students in grades 3 through 6, though younger children may participate with a parent's assistance. The 90-minute session runs at the Heatherdowns Branch Library in a fully accessible meeting space. Registration is required, and there's no cost to attend. If you have questions, the library staff are available at 419.259.5270.
