Come From Away
Come From Away at Fassett Auditorium
This musical tells the remarkable true story of Gander, Newfoundland, a small, remote community that became an unexpected gathering place for the world. On September 11, 2001, dozens of aircraft were suddenly diverted to the town's airstrip, bringing thousands of travelers from around the globe who needed shelter. Rather than turning people away, the townspeople of Gander opened their hearts and homes, using music, hospitality, and genuine human connection to welcome these strangers.
The production features book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and is being directed by Amy Spaulding-Heuring with music direction by Jenny Jackson. It's an uplifting story about how people from different cultures and backgrounds can come together with kindness and find common ground. This heartwarming musical works well for families and anyone who appreciates stories about community, resilience, and our shared humanity. Multiple performance times are available throughout the run.
