Create a Catrina Mask
Design a vibrant Catrina mask and learn Día de Muertos traditions at Mott Library.
Join us for a hands-on art activity where you'll design and decorate your own Catrina mask inspired by Day of the Dead traditions. Participants will paint masks resembling the iconic sugar skulls associated with Día de los Muertos, then personalize them with flowers and other decorative touches. This is a great opportunity to explore Mexican cultural art in a creative, relaxed setting.
The program runs for one hour and welcomes kids ages 6 and up, making it perfect for elementary and middle school–aged children. Spots are limited, so registration is recommended. The Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center is leading this activity at Mott Library. It's a wonderful way to spend an afternoon creating something beautiful while learning about cultural traditions.
