Create a Catrina Mask

Join us for a hands-on art workshop where kids will design and decorate their own Catrina mask. You'll paint a mask inspired by La Calavera Catrina, the iconic skeleton figure celebrated during Day of the Dead, then personalize it with flowers and other creative embellishments. This is a great introduction to Mexican cultural traditions through a fun, artistic activity. The program is designed for children ages 6 to 10 and takes place in the Creativity Lab on the second floor of Main Library. There are currently 24 seats available, so registration is recommended. This event is offered by the Sofia Art and Cultural Center and gives families a chance to explore art and cultural heritage together in a welcoming library setting.
