Create a Catrina Mask
Design vibrant Catrina masks while learning Día de Muertos traditions.
Join us for an afternoon of creative art-making centered on La Calavera Catrina, the iconic skeleton figure associated with Mexico's Day of the Dead celebration. During this one-hour workshop, participants will paint masks inspired by these traditional designs and personalize them with flowers and other decorative details. The finished masks make wonderful keepsakes that capture the elegance and artistry of this cultural tradition.
This program is designed for children ages 6 to 10 and is presented by the Sofia Art and Cultural Center. Space is limited with 25 seats available, so registering ahead is recommended. The event takes place in the Locke Library Meeting Room, which is handicapped accessible, making it welcoming for all families.
