Create a Catrina Mask
Decorate catrina masks and explore Mexican cultural traditions through craft.
Your child will have the chance to design and decorate their own Catrina mask during this one-hour art session at the West Toledo Library. Participants will paint masks inspired by La Calavera Catrina—the iconic skeleton figure associated with Mexico's Day of the Dead celebrations—and personalize them with flowers and other decorative details. This is a hands-on creative activity that introduces kids to cultural traditions while letting them take home a finished artwork.
The program is designed for children ages 6 to 10 and is led by the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center. Space is limited with 25 seats available, so registration is recommended. This is a great option if your family enjoys arts and crafts activities and wants to explore meaningful cultural celebrations together.
