Cultural Heritage Festival 2026

Grand Rapids celebrates the region's rich cultural heritage with exhibits, traditions & community.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum celebrates the region's rich cultural tapestry at its annual Cultural Heritage Festival. This community gathering invites families to explore the many traditions that have shaped West Michigan—from the area's earliest inhabitants and settlers to the vibrant cultures of today's residents. You'll experience live music and dance performances, sample foods from around the world, view local art, and engage in meaningful conversations that highlight what makes our community unique. Beyond the festival activities, the Museum itself offers three floors of exhibits worth exploring during your visit. Two permanent exhibitions dive deeper into the region's heritage: one traces the ethnic groups who've made Grand Rapids home over time, while the other focuses on Anishinaabek traditions, language, and stories. Whether you're looking to broaden your family's understanding of different cultures or simply enjoy a day filled with music, food, and art, this festival provides a welcoming space to connect with neighbors and celebrate what we all bring to the region.
