Discovery Center Creekkeepers
Free after-school science program for middle schoolers exploring local streams.
Discovery Center Creekkeepers is a free after-school program designed for middle schoolers who are curious about science, nature, and the outdoors. During sessions, participants explore local waterways and learn about environmental science through hands-on activities like stream surveys, habitat restoration work, and nature walks. You'll also get to meet professionals working in conservation and environmental fields, giving you real insight into potential career paths.
This program focuses on the streams and ecosystems that are part of our Murfreesboro community, including visits to Murfree Spring and Town Creek. Activities include trail camera studies, species identification, and water quality monitoring. Best of all, there's no cost to participate—the program is fully funded. Spots tend to fill quickly, so if your middle schooler is interested, register soon to secure a spot.
