Dog Days at the Zoo (2027)
Dog-themed celebration at Louisville Zoo—a perfect outing for animal-loving families.
Bring your four-legged friend to explore the Louisville Zoo during a special early-morning session designed just for dogs and their families. You'll have a designated window to enter and experience the Zoo with your pup before heading out—or you're welcome to drop your dog off and return later for a full day of Zoo adventures on your own. All-day admission is included with your ticket, making this a flexible outing for mixed groups.
Before you go, know that your dog must meet several requirements: they need to be at least one year old, currently registered, and up to date on all vaccines including rabies. Pre-registration with a signed waiver is mandatory, and you'll need to bring proof of vaccination. Dogs must stay leashed on a 6-foot lead (no retractable leashes), and handlers must be at least 18 years old. The Zoo has specific rules about which areas dogs can visit and manages dog relief stations throughout the grounds. Dogs showing signs of illness, injury, or heat won't be admitted, and the Zoo reserves the right to ask any dog displaying behavioral issues to leave.
