Expressions

The Kyiv Ukrainian Dance Ensemble is presenting a new production called Expressions that explores how we experience life through emotion and artistic movement. You'll journey alongside the dancers as they interpret the full spectrum of human feeling. The performance features two special collaborators: the Gerdan Music Ensemble from Washington DC, founded by Grammy-winning musicians who blend traditional Ukrainian folk music with jazz and contemporary styles, and Confluence Ballet of Pittsburgh. One highlight is a special piece commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl Nuclear Disaster, created in partnership with photographer Michael Haritan. Before the performance, arrive early to explore the Ukrainian Marketplace (opening at 2pm), where you can browse vendors selling Ukrainian cultural goods and grab baked items from a Ukrainian bakery. Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for children 10 and under, available online or at the box office. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit kyivdance.org or email kyivdance01@gmail.com. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience vibrant cultural storytelling and music with your family.
