Family Campout in Murfreesboro

Bring your family for an accessible camping experience designed with younger adventurers in mind. You'll start with a gentle one-mile hike to reach the campground at the Wilderness Station, where park staff will help your family get set up and comfortable. Throughout the evening and into the night, you can choose from various activities—guided night hikes, stargazing, and campfire gatherings—or simply unwind by the fire. Dinner and a full breakfast are included with your registration, so you can focus on making memories rather than meal prep. This overnight adventure works well for families new to camping or those wanting a more supported outdoor experience. Children ages 4 and under are free, ages 5–12 are $5, and ages 13+ are $10 per person. Registration is available online through the Parks & Recreation department. For questions or to register, call 615-642-1103 or email Ethan directly. Come discover what a family camping night under the stars can be.
