Farm Care Apprentices @ The Blandford Farm

Does your child love animals or dream of farm life? This two-hour program gives kids ages 10–15 real hands-on experience caring for the farm's chickens, goat, and sheep. Under the guidance of Wildlife Programs Specialist Sarah Peterson, participants will learn feeding, watering, and enrichment techniques while working directly with the animals. Everyone heads home with a Blandford vintage vinyl sticker and plenty of stories from their morning. This is a drop-off program, so parents can explore the nearby Nature Center for free while their child participates. The program takes place both indoors and outdoors, so dress kids for the weather. Registration is required online and closes at noon the day before the event. Cost is $60 for non-members or $48 for members. If the program reaches capacity, you can join the waitlist and we'll contact you if space opens up. In case of severe weather, the program will be cancelled and you'll receive information about refund options.
