Fishing for Fossils at Fisherman's Point Hike
Hunt for snails, crinoids, and corals in fossil beds with a park naturalist.
Join a park naturalist on a guided exploration of the fossil beds at Fisherman's Point. Your group will search for ancient snails, crinoids, and impressive coral specimens while learning about the area's geological history. Bring a deck brush and bucket to help uncover fossils from the rocky terrain. The program lasts about an hour and meets at the Observation Deck.
This is a great outing for kids interested in natural history and hands-on learning. Wear sturdy shoes with good grip since you'll be walking on rocks throughout the hike. The program itself is free, though there's a $2 parking fee per vehicle. It's a budget-friendly way to spend time outdoors and discover what's hidden beneath your feet.
