Fossil Appreciation Hike (Adults and 8+)

Join us for an hour-long exploration of Blue Creek Metropark, where you'll hunt for fossils and learn about the ancient history hidden in the rock layers beneath the Toledo area. This program celebrates National Fossil Day by giving you a chance to search for fossils and discover glacial grooves along the quarry pond edge. You'll meet at the sledding hill parking lot and spend time uncovering what stories these geological features can tell us about life hundreds of millions of years ago. This activity welcomes adults and children 8 and older (children must have an adult with them the entire time). The program runs regardless of weather conditions, so dress appropriately for the day. Bring a filled reusable water bottle to stay hydrated during your time outdoors. The program costs $5 per person. If you're a Lucas County resident or have a membership, you can receive a discount when you register through your account.
