Ghost Tours at The Hermitage
Spooky nighttime walking tour at Andrew Jackson's historic Hermitage.
Step into the shadows of Andrew Jackson's home for an evening steeped in history and mystery. These lantern-lit walking tours explore ghost stories, unexplained events, and curious accounts tied to the mansion, grounds, family cemetery, and Jackson himself. As you wander the property after dark, guides share tales passed down through generations while weaving in lessons about death, mourning customs, and superstitions from the late-Regency and early-Victorian periods. The experience blends folklore with real history, offering a rare chance to see this historic site when most visitors have gone home. Tours last about an hour and a half.
Before your tour begins, head to Andrew & Rachel's Café to grab a bite and enjoy themed seasonal drinks and treats—from specialty cocktails to mocktails and snacks—to build anticipation for the evening ahead. Tickets are $55 for members and $60 for non-members, with a maximum of 42 people per tour. Keep in mind that tours operate rain or shine with no refunds for weather, and tickets sell quickly, so book ahead. Each person needs their own ticket to participate. A portion of proceeds supports the Andrew Jackson Foundation's preservation efforts.
