Halloween Legends and Lore
Historic ghost stories and Halloween legends at Old World Wisconsin's restored village.
Halloween Legends and Lore brings spooky storytelling and interactive fun to Old World Wisconsin this October. Spread across six evenings at the Crossroads Village, your family can explore more than 20 different attractions and performances—from a candlelit séance in a Victorian home to a lantern-lit maze and woodland performances featuring folklore tales. You'll encounter live musicians, ghostly characters, historic ghost stories shared around bonfires, and silent films shown in the barn. New this year are five fresh experiences, including a journey into the woods and a graveyard storyteller encounter. Whether your kids enjoy mild scares or genuine thrills, there's something to engage different comfort levels and interests.
Tickets range from $18 to $26 per person. The museum's dining options—including the Clausing Café, Brewhouse, and Wittnebel's Tavern—open at 4:00 p.m. if you'd like to grab dinner before exploring. The atmosphere blends autumn evening fun with learning about local legends and historical traditions, making it a worthwhile seasonal outing for families who enjoy immersive, Halloween-themed entertainment.
