Holiday Junction at the Cincinnati Museum Center

Celebrate 80 years of holiday magic at Cincinnati Museum Center's beloved train display.

Holiday Junction brings together three generations of Cincinnati holiday tradition, celebrating 80 years of festive family fun at the Museum Center. The centerpiece is the Duke Energy Holiday Trains—over 300 rail cars and 50 locomotives that wind through detailed snowy scenes. You'll also find the Northern Lights display, which creates a magical backdrop for photos with its glowing lights and frosted trees. An interactive storybook traces the trains' history through vintage photographs and nostalgic memories, giving kids and adults alike a sense of connection to this beloved local tradition. While you're there, join the Holiday Scavenger Hunt to search for hidden treasures throughout the garden railway display—a fun way to keep younger visitors engaged as they explore snowy hills and festive surprises. If your family loves trains, don't miss the OMNIMAX film "Rocky Mountain Express," which follows a historic steam locomotive journey through the Canadian Rockies. Santa also makes appearances on Friday, November 27, greeting visitors by the fireplace in the Ruthven Gallery. It's a wonderful way to spend a winter day celebrating a Cincinnati institution.
