Hula for Beginners

Hula for Beginners

Hula for Beginners at Ashland Meeting Room A (Kitchenette Side)

This one-hour workshop introduces adults to the art and culture of hula dancing. You'll discover that hula is far more than hip movement—it's a form of storytelling that engages your hands, feet, and entire body to express meaning and emotion. During the session, you'll learn traditional songs and movements rooted in Hawaiian culture, all while having fun in a welcoming, beginner-friendly environment. No prior dance experience is required. Come dressed in comfortable clothing; a long skirt works well if you'd like to wear one. If you have questions about the class or need to discuss any physical or communication accommodations, reach out to the Ashland Branch directly. This is a great opportunity to explore a new cultural activity and pick up some new skills in a supportive group setting.
