Inclusive Crafts with Toledo Library Making

Sensory-friendly craft sessions for autistic and neurodivergent learners.

Join Toledo Library's Making Department for a hands-on crafting session designed to welcome everyone. Each session features different creative projects, so there's always something new to explore. The program is specifically tailored for adults and teens with intellectual or developmental disabilities, along with their peers and support persons. All materials are provided, including adaptive supplies like specially designed grips and scissors to ensure everyone can participate comfortably. A support person should plan to attend and remain present to assist participants. If you need specific accommodations or want to learn more about the adaptive art supplies available, call Public Services at 419-259-5293 at least two weeks before the event. Keep in mind the activity may involve some messiness, mild scents, and various textures. The space is fully accessible with elevators, automatic doors, and both tile and carpet flooring. Space is limited, so register early—the event is currently at capacity, but you're welcome to inquire about availability.
