Inclusive Storytime for Adults and Teens
Inclusive storytime for all ages at South Library.
This interactive program welcomes adults and teens of all abilities to enjoy stories together in a welcoming setting. The session will blend reading with music and movement, letting participants engage in whatever way feels right for them. The program is specifically designed for adults and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities, though peers and supporters are welcome too. If you're attending as a support person, you'll need to register as well.
Before attending, please note the sensory elements involved: the program includes music and movement, may feature digital screens, and uses art supplies that could create various scents and textures. The meeting room has carpeted floors and moderate lighting. Accessible features include a wide sliding door entrance and nearby restrooms with accessible stalls. Light refreshments are permitted in the room. For any accessibility needs, call Public Services at least two weeks ahead to request accommodations. The library asks for a minimum of one support staff member per six attendees.
