Intergenerational playgroups
Free intergenerational playgroups where toddlers and seniors connect and play.
Bring your child to meet older adults in a warm, welcoming setting designed for meaningful connection. These monthly playgroups let young children interact with residents at Hartland Terrace through simple activities—a hello song, themed crafts, interactive games, and free play, ending with a goodbye song. It's a chance for kids to develop patience and social skills while brightening the day of seniors who genuinely enjoy their energy and presence. Regular participation helps children and residents become familiar faces to each other, making these visits something both groups look forward to.
This program runs monthly through December, with sessions held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on September 11, October 22, November 19, and December 18. The experience is completely free, and children of all ages are welcome. If you'd like to extend your visit, the Lake Country Mom Movement offers a coffee meetup beforehand and a short walk to the facility, giving caregivers a chance to connect with others. Registration is encouraged for the full session to help residents see familiar faces, though you can note which dates work best for your family. Questions? Contact brianna@kicmke.org.
