Intergenerational playgroups

Free intergenerational playgroup for toddlers and young children to connect and play.

Bring your children to connect with older residents in a meaningful way at this monthly intergenerational playgroup. Each session follows a gentle, predictable rhythm: a hello song, a simple craft, a themed activity, free play time, and a goodbye song. These gatherings create a relaxed space where young children build friendships with peers while getting to know the residents of Hartland Terrace. Kids naturally learn patience, respect, and social skills through these cross-generational interactions, while the residents enjoy the joy and energy children bring. Sessions run monthly through the end of the year, with dates clearly marked so families can plan ahead and help residents recognize familiar faces. All ages are welcome, and participation is completely free—just bring your openness and creativity. If you'd like to extend the outing, the Lake Country Mom Movement offers a coffee meetup and guided walks to and from the facility, giving caregivers a chance to connect with others. Registration is encouraged for the full session to help build continuity, though you can note specific dates if you can only attend some months. Reach out to brianna@kicmke.org with any questions.
