Intergenerational playgroups
Free intergenerational playgroups at Hartland Terrace—toddlers playing alongside older kids and adults.
Bring your child to meet new friends and brighten the days of older residents through monthly playgroups at Hartland Terrace. These gatherings create a relaxed, welcoming space where young children and seniors interact through simple activities and play. Each session follows a comfortable routine: hello song, a craft, a themed activity, free play time, and a goodbye song. Children learn patience, respect, and social skills while residents enjoy the energy and joy children naturally bring. Regular participation helps both kids and residents form meaningful connections and look forward to seeing each other month after month.
These playgroups run monthly from September through December, with sessions lasting two and a half hours. Participation is completely free—just bring your willingness to engage and have fun. Families are encouraged to sign up for the full series so residents can build familiarity with the same faces each month. If you can only attend certain dates, let the organizers know during registration. A bonus option: connect with other caregivers through Lake Country Mom Movement, which offers a coffee meetup and guided walk to and from the facility on event mornings.
