Intergenerational playgroups

Intergenerational playgroups at Hartland Terrace

Your little ones will have the chance to build meaningful connections across generations at these monthly playgroups. Children and older residents gather in a welcoming, relaxed setting where they engage in simple crafts, themed activities, and free play together. Each session follows a comfortable routine starting with a hello song, moving through interactive activities, and wrapping up with a goodbye song. Kids benefit from spending time with people of different ages and abilities—learning patience, respect, and social skills while bringing joy to the residents simply by being themselves. These playgroups run monthly from September through December on select Fridays and Thursdays, with sessions lasting from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hartland Terrace. The program is completely free and welcomes children of all ages with their caregivers. While you can attend individual dates, the organizers encourage signing up for the full session so residents get to know familiar faces and build ongoing relationships. If you're interested, you can also connect with other caregivers through the Lake Country Mom Movement, which offers a coffee meetup and guided walk to and from the facility on some dates. Registration is capped at 30 participants—reach out to brianna@kicmke.org with any questions or if your plans change.
