Kids Club: Cherokee Pinch Pots

Kids Club: Cherokee Pinch Pots

Learn Cherokee culture and craft your own pinch pot at Carnegie Library.

Your child will discover the rich heritage of Cherokee culture during this one-hour workshop designed for elementary-aged kids. Throughout the session, they'll learn about Cherokee traditions and hear some words from the Cherokee language. The highlight is a hands-on craft project where each child will create their own pinch pot—a classic pottery technique that's both fun and educational. This program is part of the library's Native American and Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month celebration, making it a meaningful way for young learners to explore and appreciate Native cultures. The session runs from 4:00 to 5:00 pm and welcomes kindergarteners through fifth graders. It's a great fit for kids who enjoy creative activities and are curious about different cultures.
