Lake Michigan Divers

Lake Michigan Divers

Watch Lake Sturgeon and native fish during weekly underwater feeding demonstrations.

Join us every Wednesday morning to watch skilled divers work inside Discovery World's impressive 85,000-gallon Lake Michigan Tank. You'll observe the divers as they care for and feed the sturgeon and other fish living in the exhibit. At 10:00 am, you can catch the underwater feeding in action—a highlight of the morning. This hands-on viewing experience gives families a closer look at how the facility maintains its aquarium and supports these important animals. The Lake Michigan Exhibit features fish species you'd actually find in local waters, including Lake Sturgeon, Bass, Yellow Perch, and more. These animals serve as ambassadors, helping visitors understand the wildlife that calls Lake Michigan and Wisconsin's lakes home. It's a great way for kids to learn about freshwater ecosystems while watching real aquarium professionals at work. Note that dive times may change, so plan accordingly when you visit.
