Lane Motor Museum Vault Tours
Explore hundreds of unique cars up close at Lane Motor Museum's special vault tours.
The Lane Motor Museum holds special guided tours of its vault area most weekends, giving families a behind-the-scenes look at vehicles normally kept in storage. While the museum displays about 150 cars at a time, the collection actually contains over 550 automobiles and motorcycles. These 45-minute tours let you explore many of the other vehicles housed downstairs. Tours depart at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on most Saturdays and Sundays, so check ahead to confirm availability for your visit date.
Here's what to know before you go: The additional vault tour costs $10 per person on top of regular museum admission and can be purchased at the admissions counter on a first-come, first-served basis with a 30-person limit per tour. Arrive about 5 minutes early, as tours start promptly. Since you'll descend a steep flight of stairs to reach the vault area, families with mobility concerns should contact the museum staff—they can arrange alternative access through the back entrance. Once downstairs, guests must stay within marked yellow lines due to slippery surfaces from oil and grease. Photography is welcome throughout the tour.
