Lane Motor Museum Vault Tours

Tour the vault at Lane Motor Museum to see rare collector cars kids don't usually get close to.

Lane Motor Museum holds special guided tours of its vault area most weekends, giving families a chance to explore vehicles beyond what's on display in the main galleries. With over 550 cars and motorcycles in the collection, the museum can only showcase about 150 at a time—these 45-minute tours let you discover many others stored downstairs. Groups gather near the brochure display in the main exhibit area, and it's important to arrive about 5 minutes early since tours start promptly. Kids and car enthusiasts will enjoy seeing the variety of European automobiles the museum features, and photography is welcome throughout the tour. The vault tour costs an additional $10 per person on top of regular museum admission, with a limit of 30 people per group. Tickets are available at the admissions counter on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. One thing to know: reaching the vault requires going down a long, steep staircase from the main level. If stairs are a concern, let staff know and they can arrange alternative access through the back door, though you'll need to walk or drive around the building to reach it.
