LDA of PA presents Early Literacy Tutoring
Early literacy tutoring program at Carnegie Library's Hill District branch.
The Learning Disabilities Association of Pennsylvania is offering focused reading instruction for young learners in kindergarten through second grade. Using hands-on, multisensory approaches, tutors work with small groups of up to four students to build skills in reading, spelling, and handwriting. The program covers foundational literacy concepts including phonics, sight words, letter formation, vocabulary, and reading comprehension—all taught through interactive, engaging activities designed to make learning feel natural and fun.
The program runs in two back-to-back sessions (3–4 PM and 4–5 PM), and students are expected to attend twice weekly at the Hill District location to see meaningful progress. To get your child started, you'll need to register through the online form. Once registered, LDA of PA will contact you to confirm which session works best for your student. This is a great fit for children who need extra support with early reading skills or who learn best through multisensory instruction.
