Learn How to Play Lotería
Learn and play lotería, the traditional Mexican bingo game, as a family.
Your family can discover an engaging piece of cultural tradition at this special event celebrating Latinx and Hispanic Heritage Month. Participants will learn the rules and gameplay of lotería, a classic Mexican card game that shares similarities with bingo. The one-hour session offers a fun way to explore a beloved game that brings people together across generations and communities.
This program is designed for teens ages 11–17 and takes place at King Road Library's Meeting Room A & B, which accommodates up to 75 people and is handicapped accessible. It's a great opportunity for young people to pick up a new game while connecting with their heritage or learning about someone else's. No prior experience necessary—just bring curiosity and a willingness to have fun with friends and family.
