Learn How to Play Lotería

Families learn lotería & celebrate Mexican heritage through traditional card games.

Your family can discover an engaging piece of cultural tradition at this special event celebrating Latinx and Hispanic Heritage Month. Participants will learn the rules and gameplay of lotería, a classic Mexican card game that shares similarities with bingo. The one-hour session offers a fun way to explore a beloved game that brings people together across generations and communities. This program is designed for teens ages 11–17 and takes place at King Road Library's Meeting Room A & B, which accommodates up to 75 people and is handicapped accessible. It's a great opportunity for young people to pick up a new game while connecting with their heritage or learning about someone else's. No prior experience necessary—just bring curiosity and a willingness to have fun with friends and family.
