Mini Chefs

Kids cook and make their own quesadillas in this hands-on kitchen class.

Does your child love getting messy in the kitchen? Mini Chefs is a hands-on cooking activity where young kids can do the real work—stirring, sprinkling, and sampling what they make. Held on select Fridays from 10am to noon at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum, each session focuses on a different simple recipe kids can actually prepare themselves. Upcoming dates include making quesadillas and apple pie snack cups, with seasonal options like spooky treats rotating throughout the year. This is a great fit for families who want their little ones to build basic cooking skills in a fun, supervised setting. Kids leave with real food they've made and the confidence that comes with hands-on creation. Check the museum's schedule for the specific Friday dates that work for your family, and arrive ready for some delicious, playful learning.
