Nature Play Day at NCMA

Nature Play Day at NCMA at North Carolina Museum of Art

Your kids will have two hours to explore and create in the outdoor spaces at the North Carolina Museum of Art. This free, drop-in program sets up special materials and supplies throughout the park to spark imagination and outdoor discovery. Each month brings different offerings—think fort-building supplies, costumes, bubbles, paint, and other hands-on materials. A trained play facilitator from Prairie Ridge will be on hand to guide the fun and help kids make the most of their time outside. This program works best for younger children (designed for ages 7 and under, though all ages are welcome) and is perfect for families who want an unstructured, creative outdoor experience. Since everything happens outside, plan to dress for the weather and embrace the possibility of getting dirty—that's part of the fun! Just show up near the Welcome Center; no registration or ticket is needed. The program runs for a two-hour window, so you can arrive anytime during that period.
