NCMA Loves Anime Winter Bazaar: J-Fashion of Ghost Bunny: Making Japanese Street Fashion a Global Venture
J-fashion designer talk at NCMA's anime bazaar featuring Ghost Bunny's global venture.
Join designer and illustrator Paula Juri as she discusses Ghost Bunny, her fashion brand created in collaboration with Japan-based designer Iris Chen. During this hour-long session, Paula and Iris will walk through how they developed their collection, drawing inspiration from Japanese visual kei and 1990s street fashion. They'll share what it takes to design across two countries for different audiences, and honestly discuss the obstacles they've encountered bringing their vision to life.
The presentation includes live models wearing pieces from past collections and showcasing new designs from the winter line, giving you a close-up look at the actual garments. After the talk, there's time for questions, so you can learn more directly from the designers. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $5 for museum members. This is a ticketed event held at the museum's East Building.
