Ohio Poetry Day | Poetry Readings

Join celebrated poets from across Ohio for a full day of readings at the Main Library. This event features Ohio's state poet laureate, Lucas County's poet laureate, the Ohio Poet of the Year, previous county poets laureate, and contest winners sharing their work throughout the afternoon. Each hour brings a different selection of voices and perspectives, giving families a chance to experience contemporary poetry in a welcoming, community setting. Whether you're a longtime poetry enthusiast or simply curious about the art form, there's something to discover in each reading slot. The event takes place in the Main Library's atrium and is welcoming to all ages. The space features both natural and artificial light, and the library offers accessibility accommodations including elevator access, mobility assistance scooters, and complimentary parking in the attached garage.
