Polaris

Snuggle up in your coziest pajamas for a cozy December evening at the Sudekum Planetarium! Your family will settle in for Polaris, an award-winning 29-minute film featuring an adventurous polar bear and penguin who explore the stars and uncover the mystery of polar winter nights. Their journey takes them from a backyard observatory all the way around Earth, Mars, and Saturn. After the show, step into a winter wonderland filled with hands-on snowy science activities perfect for curious minds. The fun doesn't stop there—enjoy hot cocoa topped with liquid nitrogen marshmallows and take a joyful photo with James the penguin and Vladimir the polar bear. Every family leaves with both printed and digital copies of their special keepsake photo. Tickets are $13 for members and $15 for non-members (plus general admission); Explorers Society members get in free with a bonus gift. This experience works best for kids ages 4 and up. Captions are available, and the planetarium staff can share more about other accessibility options when you arrive.
