On July 8th, communities across all 50 states will participate in a simultaneous reading of the Declaration of Independence—marking 250 years since it was first read to the public in 1776. If your family would like to participate in the actual reading, arrive a few minutes early at 5:45 PM to get involved. Whether you're reading aloud or simply listening, this special event welcomes all ages and offers a memorable way to engage with an important piece of our nation's story. The reading itself is brief, so it's perfect for families with younger children who want to experience a meaningful civic moment together.
